JOHN BEATTY
For 20 years John has travelled to and photographed some of the most remote and inhospitable corners of the earth, experiencing the hardship and exhilaration of living close to the land, including spending many months in Antarctica before heading towards the North Pole, sledging 400 miles across the icecap of Greenland. With a life devoted to both adventure and travel, he spent nine years running a niche business specialising in travel to Africa, Asia, Australasia and South America, with a focus on 'last chances to encounter' with indigenous peoples, landscapes, and creatures on the verge of extinction. Whether he's rafting the Colorado River, hiking a forested Himalayan gorge or engaging primordial animals on Arctic tundra, John is able to effectively share these experiences with others through his intuitive sense of wonder, trust and respect for indigenous people and the land.
